Prosedur Inspection & Service Inflatable Liferaft

Langkah-langkah yang harus dilakukan pada saat service liferaft adalah:
1. Menurunkan Liferaft dari Tempatnya atau handle yang ada di kapal
2. Pemeriksaan menyeluruh pada kondisi fisik kontainer liferaft. Secara visual terlihat perbedaan tampilan liferaft yang masih layak dan yang sudah tidak layak.
3. Dengan hati-hati Liferaft dibuka untuk melihat dan memperbaiki barang-barang yang ada di dalam Liferaft
4. Pengujian kelayakan liferaft dengan mengisi tekanan menggunakan compressor. Liferaft yang layak dapat diisi tekanan maksimal.
5. Barang dan alat yang tersimpan di liferaft dicheck kondisi dan tanggal kadaluarsanya. Termasuk memastikan tabung CO2 yang digunakan untuk mengembangkan liferaft masih terisi tekanan penuh.
6. Langkah selanjutnya setelah pengecheckan dan pergantian yang diperlukan selesai, liferaft dilipat dan di pack kembali. Liferaft dilipat sesuai dengan cara produsen melipat liferaft dan memasukan kembali liferaft kedalam container.
7. Di pasang kembali ke tempat handle kapal pada kondisi seperti sebelumnya.
8. Langkah terakhir setelah semua prosedur selesai, diterbitkan sertifikat yang menyatakan kelayakan liferaft.

Adapun isi Liferaft yang harus di Inspection adalah :
Buoyand Paddle, Buoyant Knife, Sea Anchor, Buoyant Life Ring, Daylight Signal Mirror, First Aid Kit, Emergency Drinking Water, Emergency Food Ration, Fish Tackle, Hydrostatic Release Device, Radar Reflector, Waterproof Torch Light, Whistle, Flares Pyrotechnics (Red Hand flares, Red Parachute Rocket, Smoke Signal), equipment bag, vaccum bag for item 1, rocket parachute signal, red hand flare, orange smoke signal, food (1packet/person), water (3packets/person), first-aid-kit, Thermal protective aid, floating bailer, electric torch, sponge, sea anchor, tin opener, whistle, daylight signal mirror, fishing kit, drinking cup, clean bag（1pc/person), bellow, safety knife, anti-seasickness pill（6pcs/person), operation manual, Survival at sea instruction manual, survival signal diagram, repair tool outfit, radar reflector.

Kenapa Setiap Kapal Laut di sarankan untuk memiliki Tabung CO2 System..? Karena Apabila terjadi kebakaran untuk ini kita ambil kasus pada ruang mesin. Bila tabung pemadam portable tidak dapat mengatasi atau memadamkan pada ruang yang telah dipasang co2 system, maka akan dilakukan pemadaman dengan memanfaatkan cara kerja co2 System dengan pengoperasian sebagai berikut :

a. Alarm untuk pengoperasian Instalasi CO2 System di aktifkan

b. Mematikan seluruh blower di ruang mesin

c. Menutup valve udara pada ducting blower di top deck

d. Menutup valve bahan bakar melalui Quick Closing Valve

e. Meninggalkan ruang mesin dan mendata kesesuaian crew mesin sebelum pintu kedap pada ruang mesin ditutup

g. Menutup pintu kedap ruang mesin

h. Meng-aktifkan Auto Pilot CO2 System

Setelah cara kerja CO2 system dapat berjalan dengan baik dengan memadamkan kebakaran yang terjadi di ruang mesin langkah selanjutnya sebagai berikut:

Membuka valve udara pada ducting blower di top deck
Membuka pintu kedap ruang mesin
Meng-aktifkan blower ruang mesin
Memeriksa dengan teliti sisa-sisa kebakaran dan membersihkan
Membuka valve bahan bakar / Quick Closing Valve

Untuk perawatannya sendiri supaya cara kerja co2 system tetap optimal, disarankan tiap tahun CO2 System ini harus di re-inspection atau di periksa kembali oleh pihak yang berwenang untuk kemudian di terbitkan kembali sertifikat kelayakan CO2 System tersebut. Syarat yang harus dimiliki untuk melakukan Inspection Service Liferaft adalah:

1. Memiliki teknisi yang bersertifikat dimana sertifikat yang menyatakan teknisi memiliki keahlian untuk melakukan service liferaft yang di dapat setelah mengikuti training. Dan Sertifikat kompetensi ini hanya berlaku selama 2 (dua) tahun. Dan selanjutnya setiap 2 (dua) tahun berikutnya harus mengikuti tes kembali.

2. Memiliki workshop yang sesuai standard yang sudah di tentukan oleh pihak Shahbadar dalam hal ini sebagai pihak dari Departemen Perhubungan Laut.

3. Didampingi dan diawasi oleh otoritas yang berwenang. Hal ini untuk mengurangi adanya resiko kesalahan prosedur dalam pelaksanaan service liferaft.
